The North Carolina State University College (previously, School) of Veterinary Medicine was established in 1978. Dr. Terrence Curtin became the first dean of the School of Veterinary Medicine in 1979. The School of Veterinary Medicine admitted its first class of students in August 1981, dedicated its main facility in April 1983, and graduated its first class of veterinarians in May 1985.

The 125th Anniversary Planning Committee was formed in 2011 to plan the year-long celebration of the 125th anniversary of the founding of North Carolina State University. The celebration began on March 5, 2012 and ended approximately a year later. The Committee's aim was to promote the celebration of all things NC State and unite the campus while promoting the Strategic Plan laid out by the University in 2011. Some events commemorating the anniversary include a library exhibit on the history of the University, the Dedication of the James B. Hunt Library, new campus banners, a book on the history of the Chancellor's Residence, and an on-campus event for students.

The collection includes the records of six Chancellor installations, from 1960 to 2010. The Chancellor Installation Committee plans the installation ceremony of the Chancellor of North Carolina State University. The committee coordinates installation event details, guest invitation, publicity, and other related events (symposiums, conferences, etc.). The Chancellor is the chief administrative and executive officer, leader and spokesperson of North Carolina State University and reports to the President of the University of North Carolina General Administration and the Board of Governors, whose members are appointed by the North Carolina legislature. The Chancellor defines the scope and authority of faculties, councils, committees, and officers of North Carolina State University, is a member of all faculties and other academic bodies of the university, and has the right to preside over the deliberations of the legislative bodies of the faculties of the institution. Materials range in date from 1951 to 2010. The Committee on the History of the College was established in or before 1951 at North Carolina State College to coordinate the naming and dedication of campus buildings and roads, and to collect documentation on the history of the college. In 1972, the committee's name was changed to the Committtee on Commemoration, Institutional History, and Naming of Buildings; was changed again in 1977 to the Committee on Institutional History and Commemoration; and was changed sometime in the 1980s to the Institutional History and Commemoration Committee. This committee was formally dissolved in 2009.

Materials range in date from 1994 to 2011. The North Carolina State University Marine Sciences Council was established in 1995 to advise the Provost and Chancellor on affairs affecting marine science research, outreach, and teaching. The Council consisted of faculty from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, the College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, the College of Engineering, and the College of Veterinary Medicine. Because faculty were split between colleges, the Council provided a central focal point for marine sciences concerns. The Council played a prominent role in assessing and evaluating the Center for Marine Sciences and Technology (CMAST) based in Carteret County.

Phi Beta Kappa is the nation’s oldest and best known society for recognition of academic excellence and scholarly achievement. The North Carolina State University Phi Beta Kappa committee chairman was Robert S. Bryan and the committee members were heads of selected departments. The committee was active through at least 1994, but may have dissolved shortly thereafter.

Materials range in date from 1932 to 2010. The Buildings and Grounds Committee was established at North Carolina State College in or before 1932 to consider matters related to the aesthetic appearance of the campus. In the committee's early years, this meant primarily considering issues of landscaping and other campus beautification, as well as adornment (and other decorative considerations) for the buildings on campus. In 1970, the Buildings and Grounds Committee was accused of becoming lax in these responsibilities, and was reorganized as the Campus Planning and Environment Committee, with duties to include a more wholistic responsibility for directing all matters related to the physical environment of the campus at North Carolina State University. In 1986, the committee was renamed the Physical Environment Committee. This committee existed until the 2016-2017 academic year, when it was dissolved.

It aims to create the next generation of leaders through unique learning opportunities that embody the value of service, responsible citizenship, and ethics. Also included are the records of former director Charlotte Vestal Brown, including her daybooks, correspondence, meeting minutes, and work with the Friends of the Gallery (now known as Friends of the Gregg). The Gregg Museum of Art and Design is a collecting museum at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC that operates under the Division of Student Affairs. The Gregg’s collecting focus reflects the mission of North Carolina State University and supports its academic programs by providing research opportunities for NC State University students and the citizens of North Carolina and beyond. The collection includes, but is not limited to, textiles, ceramics, outsider/folk art, photography, architectural drawings and modern furniture. The Gregg Museum of Art and Design also puts on 6-8 exhibitions per year in its two galleries, in addition to exhibiting work at various places in the Talley Student Center and around campus. In 2013, the Gregg moved out of its previous home in Talley Student Center to the former Chancellor's Residence at 1903 Hillsborough Street. It reopened to the public in 2017.

The TRIO Programs are federal student services programs aimed to support all Americans from disadvantaged backgrounds to attend college. These programs are funded under Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 and initially included three programs: Upward Bound, Talent Search, and Student Support Services. Over time, however, the number of the programs reached eight. Overall, TRIO assists people from low-income households, first generation college students, and individuals with disabilities in their path from middle school to postbaccalaureate programs. Upward Bound is one of the TRIO programs designed to prepare students for higher education. It brings high school students to college campuses after school, on the weekends, and during the summer to receive instruction in a variety of fields. This program has been part of NC State University since 1978 and serves students annually from five high schools.
