How do I access this database?

If you have registered for a NC State-affiliated New York Times account previously:

  • Access The New York Times and click the Login button on the upper right side of the page. Use your ncsu.edu email address and the password you chose to use for your New York Times account to login.

If you are accessing the New York Times through NC State for the first time, follow the instructions below based on whether or not you have an existing New York Times account associated with your ncsu.edu email address:

  • If you have never had an NYTimes.com account associated with your ncsu.edu email, visit accessnyt.com to create an account. Type North Carolina State University in the school name blank and follow the instructions based on your location on-campus or off-campus. Be sure to use your ncsu.edu email address for your new account. If you encounter an error message, you can email edu@nytimes.com.
  • If you have an existing NYTimes.com active paid subscription/account associated with your ncsu.edu email address, you will need to cancel your personal subscription by connecting with a chat agent on the https://nytimes.com/ site, or calling 800-698-4637 before creating an account. Once your personal subscription is canceled, visit accessnyt.com, type North Carolina State University in the school name blank and since you have already created an account, click on "Already have an account." Log in with your ncsu.edu email address and the password you chose for your existing New York Times subscription/account. If you encounter an error message, you can email edu@nytimes.com.
  • If you have an existing NYTimes.com account, but not an active paid subscription associated with your ncsu.edu email address, you can visit accessnyt.com and click on "Already have an account." Log in with your ncsu.edu email address and the password you chose for your existing New York Times subscription/account. If you encounter an error message, you can email edu@nytimes.com.
