The Gerald Orlando Theodore Erdahl Papers document Erdahl's military career, his work as a cartoonist, and his tenure as the Director of the North Carolina State College Student Union. Gerald Orland Theodore Erdahl (1916-1961) was graduate of the University of Wisconsin, 1940. Erdahl served as Director of the North Carolina State College Student Union, 1949-1961. He was President of the National Association of College Unions from 1960 to 1961, a published cartoonist, and founder of the "Friends of the College" concert series at NC State.

The collection includes examples of Erdahl's artwork, records of his military service, documentation of real estate transactions, records pertaining to the College Union at North Carolina State College, Erdahl's wife's involvement with the Woman's Club, and personal documents and photographs. It also includes papers, speeches, and information related to the Association of College Unions and civic organizations as well as records of Erdahl's death.
The Gerald Orlando Theodore Papers are organized into three series; Professional Papers, Cartoons, and Personal and Family Papers.

The collection is organized into three principal series:
Materials cover Chester Berry's Vice-Presidency and Presidency, as well as Erdahl's Presidency. Most materials deal with ACU conferences, particularly 1959.
It is not certain that all of these are Erdahl's work.
