ICPSR: Inter-university consortium for political and social research

Established in 1962, the Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) is a membership-based organization, with hundreds of member institutions (http://www.icpsr.umich.edu/ICPSR/membership/ors.html) around the world. ICPSR maintains and provides access to a vast archive of social science data for research and instruction. Users are able to download data sets themselves after creating a login.
