Those who cannot attend the Towards a Better Planet Symposium or those that would like to offer a presentation can use this opportunity to share their hard-won insights with the symposium audience.
A short, five-minute video where you talk about what you see as critical to moving us towards a better planet. Videos should address the general topic of something you think is important and what you are doing to address that need.
The style of presentation is at your discretion, though we advise against either a full time “talking head” format or full time "slides only” format. We would like to see your smiling face at least a bit, at minimum at the start, and other visuals are encouraged. Our intent is that these will be archived. There should be a title and attribution that runs for at least 10 seconds to start the piece. This can overlay images etc.
Content submissions must be received no later than May 15, 2019.
Content will be displayed on a video wall running throughout the symposium at James B. Hunt, Jr. Library. These presentations will likely remain up and available for public viewing in the library for a finite time after the symposium. Submitted materials would also be included in the web presence of the material from the symposium and be archived in our special collections.
Content submissions should include an MP4 file of your presentation and a signed copy of this form which donates the video to our special collections.
For those of you that may have concerns, institutional or personal, the permissions form, despite all of the verbiage, only gives the libraries permission to include the piece in our special collections and use it as part of the collection, but does not transfer copyright, etc. You or your heirs or employers retain copyright and all future use rights etc. This simply lets us curate the videos and display/present them as part of our special collection on zoological health.
Both content and waivers can be submitted electronically through this Qualtrics Form.
To be eligible for display, content submissions must be appropriate for viewing by the general public of all ages as determined by the NC State University Libraries.
