The Community Service Committee held their spring Stream Walk on March 1 to clean the Libraries’ adopted stream on Centennial Campus. Libraries staffers walk this stream twice annually to check up on its health and to pick up any trash. The Raleigh Stormwater Management Division provides plastic gloves and trash bags, and the entire route between the Hunt Library and Achievement Drive is just over a mile.

Taylor Wolford (Lead), Katelan Haynes, Alison Edwards, Lynn Whittenberger, Cole Richard, Josh Boyer, Tri Huynh, and Laura Abraham set out on an unseasonably warm day to walk the stream. Some interesting things of note that were picked up included a tire found by Cole and Tri, as well as a couple of deflated sports balls and a sports net. The volunteer team collected an estimated 65 pounds of trash!
