Documentary Film Screening: Rising Against Asian Hate: One Day in March

Join the Libraries and Multicultural Student Affairs (MSA), as part of the campus wide celebration of APISAA Heritage Month, for a special screening and discussion of the documentary film, Rising Against Asian Hate: One Day in March. Following the film, Dr. Kyung Hee Ha, Assistant Professor from the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures will facilitate a discussion with participants. Below is a brief excerpt of the film.

"Explore the fight against Asian American hate following the March 2021 mass shootings at three spas in Atlanta. Examine how this critical moment of racial reckoning sheds light on the struggles, triumphs and achievements of AAPI communities. The film is narrated by Sandra Oh with music by Jon Batiste and Cory Wong." -PBS, pbs.org

Additionally the Immersive Asian and Asian American Historical Timeline exhibit will be open to the public from 5pm-7pm in the Hill Library, Visualization Studio before the film screening.

Betts and Dr. Ha are working on a project that seeks to document the voices and experiences of Asian and Asian Americans on campus through the support of the  Libraries and a CHASS Diversity Mini Grant.
