About This Exhibit
This exhibit features selected projects from the VR Plants team, which creates video games, exhibits, workshops, and interactive lessons about plant biology. Their aim is to inspire, delight, and teach through creative new uses of reality-extending technology. Since 2018, VR Plants has been an active collaboration between the NC State Libraries and the Department of Plant and Microbial Biology.
The VR Plants exhibit includes Ram’s Horn, which is a web-based virtual reality game about plant adaptive form and function; Longleaf Pine Restoration, which is This is a series of 360° videos documenting the restoration process of a longleaf pine ecosystem after a controlled burn; and The Naturalist Workshop, which is a virtual reality application for visitors to the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences.
This collection of VR Plants work is made possible through the talents of Dr. Larry Blanton, Dr. Jodi Forrester, Victoria Gerson, Colin Keenan, Adam Rogers, Mikhael Vasquez-Kool, Dr. Tom Wentworth, and Jack Wingo.
