Cross comments on ScholComm librarianship

SPARC features Open Knowledge Center director Will Cross in an article about the development of ScholComm Librarianship and his efforts to help create an openly-licensed book and online network to connect those interested in the emerging field of scholarly communications.

With Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) support in 2017, Cross partnered with other scholars to build OER + ScholComm. The project received such a strong response that the next step was to build a bridge between the experiences of scholarly communications practitioners and students.

“We want to build a community across all sorts of learners and doers—to cross-pollinate perspectives. We need to be inclusive to make space for more and different voices” Cross told SPARC.
