Essic featured in article about GIS librarianship

Directions Magazine featured GIS and Data Librarian Jeff Essic in its latest issue about the importance of GIS librarianship at universities. Essic served on a panel in April to speak about his work at the Libraries and his specialization in geography, GIS data, maps, ICPSR, numeric data, and government information.

The article reports the entirety of the lively panel discussion in detail. Essic is quoted speaking about the rise of online mapping and StoryMaps activities at NC State, and about the challenges this presents to the archiving of this work.
