The Teaching & Visualization Lab at the Hunt Library has undergone significant updates over the summer to both its technology and the physical space itself. The space now features quieter and faster 4K laser projectors, a 7.1 surround sound audio system, and a new computer. The old projection screen has been replaced with an 85-foot, continuous, curved screen to create an uninterrupted, uniform projection surface. Users will also be able to connect up to eight devices at once and project to different sections of the room.

“The updated technology and screen will make it easier for our students and faculty to make immersive content for their coursework, special presentations, and creative projects,” says Hannah Rainey, Associate Head of Research Engagement. “I am excited to see how this space will inspire and spark creativity."

Closed since March 2020, the space is now open for use in innovative teaching and learning, communicating research, and showcasing creative work from the NC State community. Consultations and reservations can be requested through the request form. New technology specs and templates are also provided through the Libraries website

"I am so excited to continue working with faculty and students to showcase their work in the refreshed Teaching & Visualization Lab,” says Courtney Hewett, University Library Specialist. “It is a real privilege to learn about and share their areas of expertise in this unique and immersive visualization space."
