How do I connect to the screen in a study room?

If you’re having trouble with a screen in a study room, we strongly recommend the simplest, most reliable method: connect to the screen via HDMI cable. Here's how.

  1. Find an HDMI cable. In some rooms, it’s under a flap on the table. If there isn’t an HDMI cable in the room, you can borrow one for free from the Ask Us desk. If your device doesn’t have an HDMI port, you can also borrow an adapter.
We have other adapters you can borrow, too.
  2. Find the room’s control panel on the wall or on the table.
Press the On button to turn on the screen that's on the wall, and then press the HDMI or LAPTOP button to select your input.
Wall panel with On button (circled, top left), Off button, Laptop button (circled, top right, may also say HDMI), and other buttons below

Your device's display should now be showing on the screen on the wall.

Volume issues?

Make sure your laptop's audio settings are set to HDMI.

Check the volume control on the room’s control panel.

Desktop display issues?

Check your device display settings:

  • Windows: set to Project (Windows + P)
  • Mac: Settings > Displays
