The Libraries picks their “Best Books” for 2020

Check out Dale Cousins' review of "Deacon King Kong" by James McBride and others on our “Best Book I Read this Year” blog.

Happy Jólabókaflóð from the Libraries! That’s the Icelandic holiday tradition of the “Yule Book Flood,” when people give each other a bounty of new books. NC State librarians offer their own flood of book recommendations on the Libraries’ “Best Book I Read this Year” blog.

We have scoured our bookshelves, nightstands, and coffee tables to pick the best book we’ve spent time with in 2020. Some titles were published this year, others are classics. There are familiar authors like Jesmyn Ward and Octavia Butler and lesser known writers like Elisa Gabbert and Xandria Phillips. Check out our list and start a book flood of your own!
