The Library Technology Career Jumpstart Program was offered by North Carolina State University Libraries in 2020, 2021, and 2022.
This week-long, virtual program gave library school students a better understanding of job opportunities available in library technology, built up their technical skill set, and gave them a roadmap for pursuing a career in library technology.
Read about the two past iterations of this program: what participants did and what they had to say about their experiences.
All sessions featured automated captioning. We are happy to provide live captioning by a professional captioner upon request. Recordings and transcripts for most sessions were available to participants for a period of time after the Jumpstart Program concluded.
We believe that there is value in building a network of similar programs across organizations. Our guide, Planning a Jumpstart Program, details our process for conceptualizing, planning, hosting, and assessing this program in the hopes that this information will be useful for others looking to begin similar programs at their institutions.
