Rapid Rendering, the Art of Seeing

Led by Dr. Michael Stoskopf, who teaches Veterinary Illustration as an elective course for veterinary students at the NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine

This workshop invites participants to develop rapid quick sketching skills. Ironically great drawing expertise is not required. By working through short exercises on observation, participants will improve their ability to observe. This will be followed by exercises drawing animals from projected images and videos with the goal of speeding their ability to use a pencil and paper to capture the essence of animal subjects in real time. In the process, they will discover how to focus their attention on their subject and to capture the essence of a subject very quickly.
