NC State alum Christina Hammock Koch.

Come to the iPearl Immersion Theater at the Hunt Library on Thursday, March 14 to see NC State alum Christina Hammock Koch blast off to the International Space Station! Coverage starts at 2:00 p.m. and the ISS launch at the Baikonur Cosmodrome in southern Kazakhstan is scheduled to happen at 3:14 p.m.

On March 29, Koch will be part of the first all-female crew to conduct a spacewalk in the 21-year history of the ISS.

“I hope I can be an example to people who might not have someone to look at as a mentor that it doesn’t matter where you come from or what examples there might be around you, you can achieve whatever you’re passionate about,” she said in a conversation with NC State about her historic six-month mission on the ISS and her connections to the university.
