About This Workshop
Immersive Scholar creative residents, Caitlin & Misha will lead a workshop about creating compelling infographics. Participants will create their own pictorial fraction chart about a topic of their choice (something near & dear to them). The workshop will include an overview of different styles of infographics including examples of pictorial fraction charts, which are a great way to picture fractions of a whole, with the whole represented by an image (examples here, here, and here). Participants will be guided in selecting a set of numbers/statistics to compare, sketching out ideas, and finally move on to digital illustration and image creation. Caitlin & Misha will also work with participants to help them pick out the best typeface to complete the final graphics. If you have time, we encourage you to think ahead of time about issues & stats that are relevant and of interest to you.
