File Formats in the NCSU Scholarly Publications Repository

PDF is the preferred format for submissions to the Repository, and the original/”native” file from which the PDF is derived is welcomed for preservation purposes as well.  PDF is a widely accessible and more easily migrated than most formats.  For assistance in converting documents to PDF, please contact repository@ncsu.edu.

Individual files deposited in the repository should normally be less than 2 GB in size (we enforce a limit of 3GB). Growth in the total size of a collection of files associated with a research project and deposited into the repository normally should not exceed 15 GB per year.
