About This Event

Mar Hicks, historian of gender and technology, will talk about the resistance against large technological systems and how gender, labor, and sexuality play an important role in that, both historically and in the present. Hicks, author of the recent award-winning book Programmed Inequality: How Britain Discarded Women Technologists and Lost Its Edge In Computing is a current Fellow at the National Humanities Center. This program is part of the Making Space series.
