Myers named Assistant Director of Development

We are very pleased to announce the appointment of Carrie Myers to the position of Assistant Director of Development effective January 14, 2019.

Myers will join the Development staff to develop and strengthen relationships with individuals, foundations, and corporations in order to build private support for the mission and strategic priorities of the Libraries. She will provide strategic planning and execution in the critical areas of annual giving, leadership annual giving, major gift prospect identification and cultivation, corporate sponsorship, and Friends of the Library membership. Myers will develop and implement the Libraries’ annual giving strategy each fiscal year and drive the development, editing, social media, printing, and distribution of all solicitation materials related to annual giving for the Libraries. She will also serve as the Libraries’ liaison to the NC State Annual Giving Office and the staff lead for the Libraries’ Young Alumni Leadership Council.

Myers currently serves as Senior Director of Alumni Engagement for the Nebraska Alumni Association where she organizes programs focusing on alumni engagement and stewardship through on-campus activities and professional development experiences. She partners with the Chancellor’s office, the Chancellor’s Alumni Advisory Council, and nine different colleges and Foundation leadership to identify engagement opportunities and recommend activities such as Alumni Masters Week, which builds stewardship through classroom visits, lunches with students, and an awards banquet dinner. Myers creates and implements direct marketing and email campaigns and coordinates conference logistics for the Nebraska Women’s Leadership Network and other affiliate groups, soliciting membership and encouraging donations. Previously Myers was an admissions counselor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she met with students, families, and high school counselors daily.

Myers was chosen for the Leadership Lincoln Fellows Program where she led monthly programs about governmental, entrepreneurial, and educational agencies. She has also served as a Friends Council Member for Make-A-Wish Nebraska and been a Go Lincoln Board Member for the Downtown Lincoln Association. Myers earned the Master of Arts in Journalism and the Bachelor of Journalism at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
