Through its Alt-Textbook Project, the NCSU Libraries is committed to fostering change in the current textbook publishing environment. Librarians can partner with faculty members on licensing resources, using digital repositories, and creating and publishing their own open educational resources.

Learn more at the Libraries’ “Alt-Textbook Workshop” on Thursday, Nov. 2 from 1:30 p.m.-2:30 p.m. at the Fishbowl in the Hunt Library. In this workshop, we will consider the problems with the textbook environment and discuss how faculty can partner with librarians to help further student success by looking at alternative ways to providing course materials. The workshop is free but pre-registration is required.

The Libraries instructional team is:

  • Will Cross, Director, Copyright & Digital Scholarship Center
  • Alex Carroll, Research Librarian for Engineering and Biotechnology
  • Brian Pugsley, University Library Technician
