Susan Nutter, Library Champion

It’s a descriptor that’s not often applied to librarians. In a post listing “ten nonpartisan reasons” to love Raleigh, the Raleigh Agenda blog declared Director and Vice Provost Susan K. Nutter a “badass,” calling her “a cultural, aesthetic, and learning force for good.” The publication credited Nutter for transforming D. H. Hill Jr. into a place “where inquiry felt like an ecstatic rite,” as well creating the Hunt Library as a shining example of “how libraries can be vital in the online age.” Yep, pretty badass indeed.
