Staff Notes: Joyce Chapman

Joyce Chapman (Metadata and Cataloging) recently delivered a presentation sponsored by the ALCTS Metadata Interest Group at the 2010 ALA Annual Conference in Washington, D.C. (June 26 2010). Her talk was part of a panel of three presentations titled "Converging Metadata Standards in Cultural Institutions: Apples & Oranges." She discussed the importance of integrating usability and user needs into metadata creation workflow decisions, and her recent research study on the assessment of metadata creation from a cost/benefit perspective.
