Project managers, go forth!

Congrats to the graduates of the Libraries’ first Project Management training. These twelve staff members started training with the Project Management team in October 2018 and finished in April 2019:

Alex Reher, Access Services

Allison Hughes, Friends of the Library

Brooke Peters, Libraries Human Resources

Carl Piraneo, Access Services

Cathy Dorin-Black, Special Collections Research Center

Dave Provost, Veterinary Medicine Library

Glenn Privette, Building Services

Katharine Frazier, Collections and Research Strategy

Lisa Madden, Acquisitions and Discovery

Megan Otto, Learning Spaces and Services

Ruth Gagliardi, Acquisitions and Discovery

Sarah Craig, User Experience

The training consisted of seven classes covering project management topics. Through the training experience, the cohort tackled problems such as opening the Hill Library’s Hillsborough Street doors, finding a way out of the Libraries Escape Room, and making a compelling pitch for a project idea. Guest speakers from the Libraries included Hannah Rainey, Chris Tonelli, Jacob Shelby, Bret Davidson and David Tully.

The feedback about the training was positive, and we hope to offer another project management training in the upcoming year.
