Inter-Faith Food Shuttle Farm Morning

When our North Carolina springs turn to summer, our Libraries staff members get smart and do their outdoor community service work in the morning! In late May, our group of three volunteers, Alex Reher, Hilary Davis, and Natalia Lopez, met at the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle Farm at 9 am. It was a hot morning, but at least dry and with a nice breeze. After washing hands and getting a quick tutorial, they harvested kale, filling several crates. Once finished with the kale, they moved indoors to do quality control and box up bundles of kale and swiss chard for delivery. But still, the trio made sure to take an obligatory farm selfie, showcasing their assortment of hats (Alex’s straw number for the win), along with some well-done tractor product placement.
