Do your job better with Cool Tools

You have to stay up on the latest tips and tech to rock your job. The NCSULA’s periodic Cool Tools presentations feature Libraries staff showing off the stuff they use everyday, or the app or device that’s about to drop. At the most recent Cool Tools on Oct. 25, Pete Schreiner demonstrated the Microsoft HoloLens, a mixed-reality, immersive headset that will soon be available in technology lending. Adam Rogers showed off Tinkercad, an easy-to-use, CAD design tool that’s ideal for people first discovering 3D printing. Markus Wurst also talked about Google Fonts and the free online font generator Fontsquirrel. If these tools trigger your memory and make you think “Oh, I use something that everyone else should know about,” then contact Walt Gurley to be a part of the next Cool Tools.
