All library users are “stressed users”

Associate Head of User Experience Robin Davis authored a post on the Choice Reviews Libtech blog in January about designing every aspect of the library around its users—and particularly “stressed users.”

In “Why You Should Think of Stressed Users as Your Default Audience,” Davis promotes the idea of presuming that all student users of library services are experiencing some combination of health stress, financial stress, social stress, and academic stress, and of using that presumption to inform the design of instructional materials, website interfaces, and service points and processes.
