On Thursday, October 27, library staff gathered for pizza lunch and a chance to support the Wolfpack Gives Back campaign. 50 staff members attended, each paying $2 for the lunch and donating a total of $202.25 to the campaign.
18 of the 50 people who donated were new donors, which raised the Libraries' participation rate in the campus
fundraising event to 51 percent!
In addition to the $202.25 going to the campaign charities, the attendees could nominate their favorite SECC charity to receive an additional $50 donation. Greg Raschke filled in for Susan Nutter, who could not be with us, to draw the winning charity. We drew two winning charities from the 36 submissions listed below.
The two winning charities, each of which will receive $25, are:
Habitat for Humanity of Wake County#2502 (nominated anonymously 4 times) and
America's VetDogs Veteran's K-9 Corps #2414 (nominated by Sara Hassell, Friends of the Library).
Special thanks to the NCSU Libraries Team Leaders who baked for or helped at the lunch: Kris Alpi, Vet Med; Karen DeWitt, Design; Shirley Rodgers, Information Technology; Barbara Weinberg, Metadata & Cataloging; Deborah Petermann, Administration; and Jessica Hosey-Heitzman, Access & Delivery Services. Also a special thanks to those of you who stayed on duty to cover service points so that others could attend the event.
