Start your Wednesdays at the Open Café

Drop in for casual conversation about open education issues

Coffee, pastry, and open education—it’s a perfect match.

Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. starting April 22, join the Libraries for the casual "Open Café" via Zoom. Rather than a formal presentation or workshop, we’re offering a relaxed, coffeeshop-style chat about open educational resources (OERs) and open pedagogy. Drop in for ten minutes or stay for the whole hour.

Visit go.ncsu.edu/opencafe for attendance information.

“We're not doing big presentations or pitches; this is going to be a social space where ideas are shared,” says David Tully, an NCSU Libraries Fellow, who will be hosting the sessions from his kitchen, with cappuccino and pastry in hand. “We will of course be mentioning the types of support the Libraries can offer (expertise, grants, consulting, etc.), but we'll be mindful of how we do it given the low-stakes, open forum we wish to create.“

For the first session, the topic of conversation will be the transition to online learning. We will swap stories of how things have gone and share successes and challenges. Guests from across campus and beyond will join future sessions to talk about their experiences with that particular week's open education theme.
