Let’s build a bee hotel!

Bee Hotel Build-a-Long! February, 27 at 1 p.m.

Bring some happiness to your garden—and local bees—by building a bee hotel just in time for spring! On Saturday, Feb. 27, 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m., resident bee expert and Applied Ecology urban entomologist, Dr. Elsa Youngsteadt, will talk about the local bees in your garden and then will partner with the Libraries’ Makerspace for a virtual build-along you can do from home.

Register by Monday, Feb. 15 to place your kit order ($25, which includes shipping). The kit includes pre-cut lumber and screws. You will still need several other items not included in the kit, such as wood glue and a power drill. The kit is not required to participate in the event. Participants may choose to source their own materials.

Youngsteadt and the Makerspace team will guide you through the building process of  your very own bee hotel! We will be building this together during the webinar, so bring the materials with you and log in to the Zoom from where you will be building.

Register to attend at the Applied Ecology site, where you can also download the materials list and instructions.
