The Global Film Series goes virtual

View the Irish film “Zoo” online now

Get your popcorn, we have moved the Global Film Series online!

The 2017 film Zoo is available for streaming. In this family-friendly film, young Tom Hall (Art Parkinson) and his misfit friends fight to save “Buster” the baby elephant during the German air raid bombings of Belfast, Northern Ireland in 1941.

NC State History professor Charles C. Ludington introduces Zoo and puts the film in historical context, describing the devastation in Ireland during “the blitz” and including interesting facts like the importance of the children's names in the film.

Visit the series page for the streaming link. You can stream the film at your own convenience. After viewing the film, we invite you to submit questions for the faculty, which will be answered and posted on the series page.

The Global Film Series is a partnership between the Libraries and the Office of Global Engagement. All screenings are free and open to the public.
