Give a little to help NC State students gain new skills!

The Libraries Makerspace has been selected for a university-wide crowdfunding campaign for fall 2023 that starts September 6 and runs through October 6. During this campaign, we have an ambitious goal of raising $5,000—and we need your support. Make a donation now!

Students made over 19,000 visits to the Makerspace last school year for projects, programs, workshops and courses. The Libraries gives students a competitive edge by providing hands-on access to emerging technologies including 3D printers, scanners, electronics prototyping kits, sewing machines, laser cutters, and many other maker tools.

The Libraries will use all funds raised during the campaign to support Makerspace operations by purchasing supplies (which are free to Makerspace users) and performing maintenance on our heavily used equipment. Below are some examples of typical Makerspace operating costs:

  • $200 provides enough 3D printer filament to output 32 student projects,
  • $500 provides enough 3D printer filament to output 80 student projects,
  • $1000 enables the Libraries to maintain and upgrade 3D printers and other technologies,
  • $2000 funds a full semester of student learning sessions and workshops,
  • $4000 funds a full year of learning sessions and workshops.

Give any amount you like to support maker skills that set NC State students apart!
