The Learning Commons is scheduled to open in the renovated East Wing of the D. H. Hill Jr. Library on Monday, March 12, 2007, when students return from Spring Break. The Learning Commons together with the Special Collections Research Center, which includes a well-appointed reading room and state-of-the-art exhibit gallery, will occupy the first floor.

Following a ribbon-cutting, March 12 will be filled with activities targeted to students, including live entertainment, food, and special prizes for NC State students. There will be activities and events planned for the university community throughout the week of March 12 and the opportunity for everyone to come see the new space, featuring the inaugural exhibit based on the work of NC State ecologist B. W. Wells and a Learning Commons loaded with technology and plenty of space for students to work individually or in collaborative groups.

Please see the Learning Commons site for more information.
