Libraries' Head of IT to Lead National Association

Andrew Pace, the NCSU Libraries' head of information technology, was recently elected vice-president/president-elect of the Library and Information Technology Association (LITA) . LITA is the leading national organization for systems librarians, library administrators, vendors and other professionals interested in cutting-edge technology and applications for information providers.

At the NCSU Libraries, Pace has overseen numerous successful projects, such as introducing a laptop lending service, implementing a revolutionary online catalog, and building a robust IT architecture to support the physical and digital library. He has also demonstrated significant national leadership in the digital library arena. He writes the monthly "Technically Speaking" column for American Libraries magazine, and authors the ?Hectic Pace? blog for American Libraries online.
