The NC State University Libraries now provides access to several collections of primary sources on gender and sexuality, including films, magazines, and images covering women’s home lives, marriage, sexuality, political movements, queer culture and community, and more.

Included in the new additions is LGBT Magazine Archive, covering publications from the 1950s to 2015 in the US and UK. The archive highlights the culture and recent history of queer people. Queer Pasts, available through Adam Matthew, is another source of queer primary sources, defining queer in “the broadest sense… We intend for the website to embrace topics that are gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender and to include work on sexual and gender formations that are queer but not necessarily LGBT.”

Collections on gender include Women in the National Archives, a detailed and extensive finding aid for The National Archives, and Everyday Life & Women in America, a collection of primary source material on American social, cultural, and popular history from Duke University and The New York Public Library from the early 19th to 20th centuries.
