The NC State University Libraries now provides access to several collections of newspapers, primary accounts, historical documents, oral histories, and more, highlighting the history and experience of African Americans, Native Americans, and immigrants to the United States.
Resources on African American life include African American Communities, a rich collection of primary sources focused on desegregation, housing, and culture in Atlanta, Chicago, New York, and North Carolina towns.
The American Indian Newspapers, authored by and for indigenous communities, come in a wide variety of languages including English, Lakota, and Ōlelo Hawaiʻi, developed with permissions and contributions from Tribal Councils and newspaper publishers.
The rest of the collections include primary accounts of immigration and colonialism, such as Migration to new worlds: The century of immigration, an exploration of migrant experiences through diaries, objects, and shipping papers.
