A chance to stock up for summer reading? A bag of treasures for $5? A free appraisal of any books that you suspect may be valuable? A chance to support the Libraries too?
It must be spring. Time for the annual book sale on the Brickyard.
Each year for the last twenty years, the Friends of the Library has held the book sale to generate funds to earn that extra edge that makes the Libraries such a great resource for the University. Each event is the culmination of hundreds of hours of work by volunteers from the Friends, the Libraries staff, and others.
This year we'll hold the traditional bag of books sale on the last day, but shop early to make sure that you don't let the good ones get away ($4-hardbacks, $2-paperbacks). And on April 20, book appraiser John Sharpe will be available to give you an estimate of the market value of any book you'd like to bring by. This offer is open to Friends only, but no problem if you're an NC State student ”membership is free to you. You can sign up on the web or at the event itself. The sale kicks off on April 20, with a silent auction featuring rare and signed pieces.
