GIS Lookup: Detailed Data Layer Listing

Data Layer GraphicTitle: "GTOPO30 Global Digital Elevation Model" (2006)

Description: GTOPO30 Global Digital Elevation Model (North Central, one of six data sets) represents gridded 30-arc second (approximately one kilometer) elevation for the non-SRTM coverage area (north of 60 degrees North and south of 56 degrees South latitude) of the world. These data were developed by the U.S. Geological Survey's EROS Data Center in 1996 from a variety of data sources. The pixel value represents the elevation in meters. GTOPO30 Global Digital Elevation Model provides a base map layer displaying global elevation information for geographic analysis on global, regional, and national scales for non-SRTM coverage areas.
