North Carolina State University, College of Engineering, North Carolina Clean Energy Technology Center Records 1979-2019

The Clean Energy Technology Center supports the research, development, and education of alternative energies, including solar, wind, photovoltaic, and the smart grid, among others. The Center advances a sustainable energy economy by demonstrating new technologies and advising on creating policy.

The Clean Energy Technology Center (previously called the North Carolina Solar Center) was founded in 1987. The Center works with partners in industry, academia, government, and non-profits to promote the use of clean energy technologies. Its mission is to advance a sustainable energy economy by educating, demonstrating, and providing support for clean energy technologies, practices and policies (https://nccleantech.ncsu.edu/about-us/sustainable-energy-mission-funding/, accessed 4/25/2023). The Center provides training, data, and demonstrations in support of its mission. The N.C. General Assembly contributes most of the funding for the Center, with additional support from private funding and grants.

The North Carolina State University, College of Engineering, North Carolina Clean Energy Technology Center Records contain correspondence, subject files, flyers and brochures for tours and workshops, publications, reports, conference brochures, and plans of the Solar House. Topics covered include alternative energy legislation introduced in various states throughout the nation, information on the DSIRE database, and clean energy innovations as presented in various publications. Materials range in date from 1979 to 2019.
