North Carolina State University, Office of University Planning and Analysis General Records 1936-2021

The North Carolina State University Office of University Planning and Analysis was created by merging Institutional Research (which originated in the Chancellor's Office) with University Planning (originally in the Provost's Office). This unit has collected institutional data in support of long-term planning, assessment, and policy development on the North Carolina State University campus.

General records, 1936-2004, of the North Carolina State University Office of University Planning and Analysis contain correspondence, reports, and research records related to studies about NC State University, especially including impact of students on campus. Other subjects include student enrollment data, enrollment projections, degrees conferred, freshman research, teaching loads, retention, suspension and attrition, and minorities.

Collection is arranged into six series: 1. Long Range Planning Documents, 1957-1987; 2. Self Study Documents, 1953-1994; 3. Research and Reports, 1957-2004; 4. Subject Files, 1946-1991; 5. Unprocessed Records, 1985-1997; and 6. Web Content, starting in July 2014.

The nature of the NC State University Libraries' Special Collections means that copyright or other information about restrictions may be difficult or even impossible to determine despite reasonable efforts.
