The Suggestion Awards Committee was created in 1976 at North Carolina State University to participate in a program being run by the state of North Carolina to award state employees for making suggestions that could save money in the state's operating budget. In 1979, the committee was renamed the Awards Committee, and appears to also have been dissolved in that year.
