The Jim Davis Photographs contain photographs, slides, and negatives of the NC State University campus, student life and activities, athletics, and Chancellor John Caldwell, among other topics. Selected images were used in the Agromeck yearbooks of 1972, 1973, and 1974. This collection contains proposals from students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members for North Carolina State University's first official flag. The designs were submitted as part of a contest that took place in 2000. Most are color computer print-outs glued to foam boards. A few of the proposals were hand-colored with marker, and many contain brief handwritten or typed notes from the designer. Flat folder 4 contains two silk-screened flags. In May of 2000, North Carolina State University announced a contest to select the school's first official flag. They received over 100 submissions from students, alumni, faculty, staff, and community members. A panel of students, faculty, and alumni chose the top five proposals, and in September of 2000 the Board of Trustees selected the winner. Chosen by a vote of 9-2, the winning design came from Lynn Koonce, a graphic designer in N.C. State's Office of Public Affairs. Less

The North Carolina State University, Division of Student Affairs, University Student Center Records contain files documenting the activities of the Center, including the administrative and departmental transactions and the events and services which occured there, ranging in date from 1941 to 2004. Included are correspondence and memorandums, meeting minutes and agendas, budgetary and financial information, reports, rules and policies, departmental constitutions and bylaws, schedules, event and activity proposals, other administrative papers, newspaper clippings, booklets, flyers, pamphlets, programs, calendars, invitations, brochures, other promotional and publicity materials, and the scrapbooks and loose materials removed from them. Also included are archiveed versions of the web site of North Carolina State University’s Student Center. The University Student Center of North Carolina State University is a student organization established to give students and other community members a centralized location on campus which provides essential facilities, programs, and services. It was established with the purpose of enriching students' lives by teaching them social and recreational skills, and to provide them with the opportunity of extracurricular activity without having to leave campus. These records reflect the history of the Center itself by including the files related to the general administrative and departmental transactions of the organization, as well as files reflecting the production and promotion of its events, services, and activities. This collection contains the administrative records of the NC State University colony (chapter) of the Delta Upsilon fraternity, including correspondence, financial records, meeting minutes, notebooks kept by fraternity officers, information on the incorporation of the colony at NC State University, and information on the fraternity house and fraternity activities. This collection also contains some materials produced by the International Headquarters of the Delta Upsilon Fraternity. Materials range in date from 1974 to 1993. [Alpha] Delta Upsilon, an international men's fraternity, was founded in 1834. The fraternity is committed to "building better men" through their four founding principles: friendship, character, culture, and justice. The North Carolina State University colony (chapter) of the fraternity was established in 1976, with the first class taking pledges in 1977. Through the 1980s, the fraternity stayed active on campus and participated in many activities, but was forced to disband in 1993, due to low membership. NC State University's Delta Upsilon colony was later reinstated, practicing a mission to: "strengthen Greek life at North Carolina State University by providing a vehicle for positive leadership, change, and growth," and remains active as of 2008.
