The North Carolina State University Humanities and Social Sciences Council (originally the Liberal Arts Council, changing its name when the School of Liberal Arts became the College of Humanities and Social Sciences in 1977) was established in or before 1966 to act as a representative student organization for the various departments in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences.
