Eric Hinesley was a horticulture professor at NC State University from 1978 to 2010. During his time as a faculty member, he conducted full-time research related to Christmas tree production in North Carolina. He also conducted studies on wetland restoration with an emphasis on Atlantic White Cedar and Bald Cypress. Dr. Hinesley received a bachelor's and master's degree in Forestry at NC State University in 1971 and 1973, respectively, and he received a Ph.D. in Forestry and Forest Soils at Mississippi State University in 1978.
