Edward Stevens was a professor in the College of Veterinary Medicine at North Carolina State University. Stevens was a renowned gastrointestinal physiologist and the author of Comparative physiology of the vertebrate digestive system, 1996 (Cambridge University Press). He received doctorates at the University of Minnesota, established his career at Cornell, and came to NC State in 1980. He died in 2008.
