MoreThe records of North Carolina State University's chapter of the Society of Alpha Pi Mu contain correspondence, meeting minutes, general information about the fraternity, an agenda of events, and the national Alpha Pi Mu constitution. Alpha Pi Mu is a national honorary society for students in the field of Industrial Engineering. In 1951, D. E. Henderson, Head of the Dept. of Industrial Engineering in the School (College) of Engineering, with the support of Dean J. H. Lampe, petitioned Dean E. L. Cloyd to allow NC State to form an Alpha Pi Mu chapter. The chapter was granted at NC State sometime between 1951 and 1956 (with the first initiations taking place in 1956). The chapter was still active as of 2008.
