Joshua Plummer Pillsbury was a professor of horticulture (1911 - 1940), professor of landscape architecture (1940 - 1946), and the landscape architect (1925 - 1946) at North Carolina State College of Agriculture and Engineering (now North Carolina State University). Pillsbury received his bachelor's degree from Pennsylvania State College (1910), where he served as a horticulture assistant from 1898 to 1911.
