Roger Lee Jackson (1931-2014) was a 1955 alumnus of North Carolina State School of Design where he studied and worked with Buckminster Fuller and Eduardo Catalano. To fulfill his ROTC commitment after graduating with a degree in architecture, Jackson worked with the architecture team on the design and construction of the Air Force Academy in Colorado. Jackson’s career also included work on hospitals, airports, shops, and university buildings in several different states including North Carolina, Utah, Minnesota, and California. Buckminster Fuller had a great impact on Jackson’s career and life. Jackson designed and constructed many polyhedron sculptures which were inspired by the work of Fuller.
