L. Rabb's research and teaching in entomology. Materials are dated from 1944 to 1996. R. L. (Robert Lamar) Rabb attended North Carolina State College of Agriculture and Engineering (later North Carolina State University) and received his Bachelor’s degree in 1947, his Master’s degree in 1950, and in 1953 one of the first Ph.D. degrees in entomology conferred by North Carolina State College. As a student, Rabb joined the Department of Entomology as an Assistant Entomologist. After he graduated, the Department hired Rabb as Assistant Professor. Rabb stayed with NC State University until his retirement in 1983. Rabb was a pioneer in developing ecologically sound approaches to insect pest management
