MoreContained in this collection are agricultural publications (ca. 1920 - ca. 1960); pamphlets, brochures, and flyers for agricultural equipment and other agricultural information (ca. 1920 - ca. 1960); and correspondence, other papers, and memorabilia of David C. and Edgar W. Worth (1916 - 1990). This collection formerly contained publications, brochures, etc. produced by NC State College/University (1920s – 1980s) but these have been moved to the University Archives. Brothers David Crenshaw and Edgar Wilson Worth graduated from North Carolina State College of Agriculture and Engineering (later NC State University), the former with a B.S. in Agriculture (1927) and M.S. in Animal Husbandry (1930) and the latter with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. David was the owner/operator of Oakhurt Dairy Farm in Wake County, NC, from 1927-1956. He was a prominent member of various dairy organzations in North Carolina.

One letter is to his father asking for money to pay his board. In the second letter, Lambeth relates his activities to his cousin Minnie, and requests a visit from her. Chatham County native Eugene Edgar Lambeth, Jr., entered North Carolina College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts as a freshman in 1891.

MoreThe Gerald Katzin Notebooks collection, circa 1960-1974, contains Gerald Katzin's class notebooks for physics and mathematics classes. These notebooks include homework and notes on such topics as electromagnetism, kinetic theory, and boundary values. Some have NC State's seal and printed text on the cover indicating they were purchased from the university's student supply store. The collection also includes a compass used for drawing circles and arcs. Gerald "Jerry" Katzin was born on August 2, 1932 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to Nathan and Bertha Kolodny Katzin. He was a physics student at NC State University during the 1950s and early 1960s. After he earned his Ph.D. in Physics at NC State, he became a professor at State and taught physics until he retired. His most significant research included work on curvature collineations. Katzin died on December 14, 2020 in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Henry Eli Kendall Jr. (1905-1981) was an engineer, North Carolina state government official, director of the State Employees' Credit Union, and a World War II veteran. He received his bachelor's degree in civil engineering from North Carolina State College of Agriculture and Engineering in 1926.

Howard McDonald Ellis (1907 - 1993) was an extension specialist in charge of Biological and Agricultural Engineering at North Carolina State University from 1935 to 1969. Ellis received a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (1929) and a bachelor's degree in Sanitary Engineering (1934) from North Carolina State College of Agriculture and Engineering. He was a pioneer in soil and water conservation and farm irrigation in North Carolina.

MoreThis collection contains newsclippings collected by Howard Snyder and which concern the 1929 merger of the Pennsylvania State Forest School in Mont Alto, Pa., with the Pennsylvania State College. Some clippings have been mounted on pages separated from a scrapbook. Also contained in the collection is Snyder's red wool jacket from his time at North Carolina State College (now North Carolina State University). On the left breast pocket is an emblem that reads "NCS 30." Howard Aden Snyder graduated from North Carolina State College (now North Carolina State University) in 1930 with a B. S. in Forestry. He was in the first graduating class of the college's new forestry program. During the previous year he was one of approximately 50 students who came to NCC State from the Pennsylvania State Forest School in Mont Alto, Pennsylvania. They were unhappy with the merger of that school with Pennsylvania State College.

MoreThe Mary Yarbrough Papers (1825-2012) contains a variety of materials including correspondence, photographs, publications, music books, news clippings, photocopies, and artifacts, most of which document Yarbrough's life and career, as well as her family history. Mary Elizabeth Yarbrough (1904-1984) was one of the first women to receive a graduate degree (M.S. in chemistry, 1927) from North Carolina State College (later North Carolina State University). Mary Yarbrough served on the faculty of Meredith College for many years (1929-1972). In 1941 she received a Ph.D. and Phi Beta Kappa key at Duke University. At Meredith College she headed the chemistry and physics department, and she became an assistant director of the cooperative education program.

The Arab Club was established in or before 1958 at North Carolina State College (University) to act as a social organization for students of Arab background, as well as to promote Arab culture and heritage throughout campus at various events and activities. The Arab Club appears to have changed their name frequently, being known alternately as the Arab Students' Organization of Raleigh, the Arab Student Organization, the Arab Student Club, the Organization of Arab Students, and the Arab Student Association, though the name "Arab Club" is the name they most commonly used. The Arab Club remained active at NC State at least through 1989, though appears to have since disbanded.

MoreThe records of the Gamma Upsilon Zeta Chapter (North Carolina State University's chapter) of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity include their chartes and bylaws, financial records, reports to the national office of Lambda Chi Alpha, the chapter's history, and information on the Gamma Upsilon Zeta housemother and her book on the history of the chapter. Lambda Chi Alpha is a social fraternity that was founded in 1909 at Boston University. North Carolina State's chapter (the Gamma Upsilon Zeta Chapter) was installed in 1924, having been initially formed in 1920 as the Pi Alpha fraternity and then later petitioning to join Lambda Chi Alpha. The Gamma Upsilon Zeta Chapter became the 65th chapter of the fraternity at its installation, and remained active until 1998, when financial problems led to the closure of the chapter.

The Self-Help Club at North Carolina State College (later University) was created in 1927 as a fraternal organization which emphasized character, friendship, fidelity, loyalty, leadership, and service. The Club was active at least through 1933, but has since disbanded.

MoreThe Student Government records contain meeting minutes, agenda, correspondence, news releases, publications, and financial records generated as a result of the establishment and activities of Student Government on NC State University's campus. Of particular interest are documents describing the "Student Rebellion" of 1905 which facilitated the need for student governing on campus as well as records documenting the ratification of the Constitution in 1955 and the creation of the Student Senate in 1969. There are also records concerning campus elections, political rallies and community involvement as well as student "disturbances" on and off campus. In addition, the collection contains publications of student government laws, bound copies of annual records and community service type publications which were circulated among the entire student body. The records also contain digital media related to the Student Government website, as well as archived content of the official website itself, beginning in 2017. Student Government at North Carolina State College of Agriculture and Engineering (later North Carolina State University) began in 1921. At that time, the group was made up of both students and faculty and was called Campus Government. Following the establishment of the Faculty Senate in 1954, a new Student Government Constitution was ratified in 1955, reestablishing a separate Student Government which included a student body president and governing committees. The Student Senate came into being in 1969 with the ratification of the Student Body Constitution.
